Ninth House brings us to a world that we are least expecting, especially when Alex Stern shows us the power a woman can have. With her talents, it is unexpected what a reader can gain out of reading this book. All the more, Ninth House captures your attention without you realizing it.
I gave Ninth House four stars, loving the way that this book managed to capture my attention while reading it. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. My first instincts were to not read it as I was not sure about the thriller/horror aspect to the book, however, as a non horror reader, I found that this was not too heavy that I had to take breaks or I had to stop reading this book. It gave the perfect amount of mystery and intensity that I really enjoyed while reading and I found myself enjoying every second of it. I loved the murder mystery aspect of it and am a huge fan to murder mystery so I was able to read it with interest.
As a non horror reader, this is a perfect way that could potentially ease your way into starting to pick up more horror reads. I found this intense yet not too scary that I had to put down. Leigh Bardugo constantly captures my attention when I read books and I’m glad that I came to pick up her books this year. Ninth House was an amazing addition to my reading list and I am happy that I was able to read this.
