Twisted mages, dragons, and a sacrificial bride to save the land.

Every year, the villagers of Omdahl pay tribute to their Dragon Master by gifting him with food and jewels for his protection against outside forces. For centuries, this exchange has taken place. This year, the neighboring radical mages have grown agitated, and have attacked the villagers. If matters weren’t already dire, the land is steadily dying, and becoming uninhabitable. When the attacks grow more violent, the Elders of Omdahl agree, the tithe for the Dragon Master will be a bride.

Imara always knew she was different, and the village never ceased to remind her. Unable to conjure magic like her fellow seidr’s, she’s a pariah. But when the opportunity to save her homeland arises, she knows what she must do–even if it means becoming the Dragon Master’s bride.

Now, to protect all she loves, Imara must work alongside the Dragon Master, or they risk losing everything.

Imara has always believed that she is normal, the only one in her quaint little town to be without magic. So, when her town elders must give a gift to the Dragon Master in order to save their town from the mages, they must give him something extravagant, something that they don’t normally give. So, Imara offers to be The dragon’s bride in order to save her town.

I gave The Dragon’s Bride four stars, really enjoying the relationship between our Dragon Lord, Lajos, and Imara. I thought it was quite an interesting relationship that actually worked quite well with each other at the end of the day.

I think the aspect of Lajos helping Imara find herself and find her powers was cute.

I did find that although it was nice and cute, it was predictable at times. I felt that there were just some phrases that I felt, “Oh I know what’s going to happen next”. Yes, this was a cute romance and I did enjoy it, but, it definitely didn’t give me the thrill of something unknown, something different.

The Dragon’s Bride is definitely a fantasy romance that is something that is quite known in the fantasy world which is why I wouldn’t have given this five stars. Was this cute? Absolutely. I think that from the beginning, I knew that I wasn’t going to expect anything spectacular and worth the hype. But I did enjoy the relationship between Lajos and Imara and did think that their relationship was cute enough to give this four stars.
